I started playing fantasy dice games with the Fighting fantasy series by Ian Livingston which then got me hooked into the red box. After being away from RPG for a decade and coming back into 4th ed. I found the mechanics had replaced the spirit of adventure. I was blown away with last years beta free rpg adventure of DCC and how it brought fear, exploration and imagination back in the game. I've introduced the goodman games products to players who cut their teeth on 4th ed who are really enjoying the extra dimensions old school adds to roleplay.
I've now running DCC games with very old school players and the new generation, both of whom are enjoying the game.

I was an early alpha/beta tester for Mr. Goodman and having just bought the book I can honestly say that he has exceeded his own design goals. As a D&D player since 1976 I can state that this game truly captures the feel of the original RPG's when everything was new and nothing was taken for granted.

And he's right. We're no heroes. ;-)
