Unboxing the New “Gamma World” Role-Playing Game

We managed to get our hands on an advance copy of the new Gamma World role-playing game while we were at New York Comic Con. While we’re not at liberty to say how we got the copy, we thought that you’d enjoy getting a sneak peek of the newest incarnation of the classic post-apocalpytic RPG. For purposes of comparison, we’ve unboxed a copy of the first edition of the game as well. Enjoy the video, and look for a full review sometime this week after the official release date. Also, if you’re still dying to learn a little bit more about Gamma World, in the meantime check out our interview with Wizards of the Coast Brand Manager Kierin Chase. He gave us the scoop on how the new game works.

  1. Kevin S. says:

So is it an RPG, a board game, or a card game? The sheer number of components makes it look like all three. The comparison to the relatively few components of the original isn’t necessarily flattering.

And I still can’t figure out why, if they’re going the box set route, they don’t include dice (assuming Gamma World uses the full set of polyhedral dice like D&D).
